NEW build/new installation

We have a vast experience in carrying out electrical installations in new build properties and extensions to existing properties.  We work closely with Building Developers on all types of new buildings from small bungalows to large detached buildings on new developments including flats and barn conversions.

We work closely with Builders and Clients from design through to hand over.

Domestic Installer Scheme (Part P) is the NICEIC Approval for contractors undertaking work within the scope of Part P of building regulations.

FIRST FIX (BEFORE PLASTERING)
Accessory boxes are fixed to the wall and cabling installed around the building ready for plastering.

SECOND FIXING (AFTER PLASTERING)
Wiring accessories such as lighting pendants, sockets and switches and consumer units are then installed.

TEST AND CERTIFICATION
Before the property is put into use the installation must be tested to ensure electrical safety.  An Electrical Installation Certificate will then be issued.

EXTENSIONS
Extensions are very similar to new builds and we carry out these installations with regular builders, we are also happy to work in with your chosen builder.

CONSUMER UNIT UPGRADE

Not all properties need rewiring some may benefit from a new consumer unit and upgrade of the earthing system.

Your consumer unit is the main distribution point for all electrics in your property, they contain all the safety devices to make your installation safe.

If you have and old fuse board with re-wireable fuses it is generally recommended that these should be upgraded for safety and are more convenient to reset in the event of a fault.  The added protection provided by a modern RCD/MCB type consumer unit means that they will operate quickly due to overload (MCB) or earth fault (RCD) therefore diffusing a risk of an electric shock.
